Browns v. Colts

The Go Couch, pictured above, has become a familiar sight at Browns tailgating in the Municipal lot over the last year or so. Recently, Mike Merideth, the architect of this motorized relaxation device was given a ticket by the Cleveland Police Department as he drove the couch over the 9th street bridge to get to the lot. The ticket was for having expired plates and driving an unregistered vehicle. (How can you have both at the same time?).

Times are tough and Mike wasn't sure he'd have enough money to pay the ticket so he collected donations as he drove around the lot. He believes he has more than enough and plans to donate anything above the cost of the ticket to the Make a Wish Foundation. He would like to get a company or individual to match his donation so that it could be used by kids this holiday season. You can reach Mike at
gonemad347@aol.com if you are in a position to help.

Other Browns fans were not in quite as charitable mood especially toward the team. The WE BELIEVE bus seemed to have developed engine trouble. The photo below was a metaphor for how some fans felt even before the game had started.

The t-shirt vendor below was selling the shirts below that were so mean that he didn't want to show his face in the picture. (They were funny though.)

Other fans voiced their desire to replace coach Romeo Crennel. Someone was passing out signs that said Cowher Power cowher09.com. The site is part of an effort to draft Bill Cowher to be coach of the Browns. The "fans" below had their own "in your face" way of saying the same thing.

The Browns Fan's Tailgating Guide

Hot off the press, The Browns Fan's Tailgating Guide is the definitive book on Tailgating in Cleveland. Written by local author Peter Chakerian, the book features everything the die-hard Browns fan would want to know about celebrating our team.

Four of the pictures in the book are my photos. Visit the site of publisher, Gray & Company, for a listing of booksignings.

Tailgating at the 49ers Game

No tailgating would be complete without the right food. These tailgaters were enjoying bacon wrapped scallops, hot dogs and steak.

The Go Couch is an original creation that is being modeled by these four Browns fans.

Daniel Ray Pickrel one of the many people who have created an opportunity in collecting the cans after tailgating is done. Daniel works using roller blades and a trash can on wheels. To watch him work is poetry in motion. He doesn't stop with the aluminum cans (which he sells), he deposits the trash in the nearest trash his contribution for the greater good. He calls it Karmic Hockey.

The 20 to 7 Browns victor over the 49ers was a fitting end for a great season. Although we didn't make the playoffs, the Browns did better this season than anyone expected.

Tailgating in "Real" Football Weather

The weather started out with rain, then then "wintery mix" then snow, then blizzard. But the Browns Victory over the Buffalo Bills made all that cold and snow worthwhile.

Channel 19 Sports Anchor Tony Zarrella interviews fans who are oblivious to the blizzard in the muni lot.

About My Pictures

Pictures ordered through my site are processed, and mailed by Shutterfly, an online photo printing service. Shutterfly handles credit card processing through industry-standard SSL software to encrypt your personal information.

Pictures are printed on Fuji Crystal Archive paper, so your images will be crystal clear and bursting with rich, full colors, and sharp, crisp whites. And they’ll stay looking great for a lifetime. I've been using their processing services for over 5 years and have been very satisfied with the picture quality and customer service.

Service is quick. I've received print and greeting card orders within one week of placing the order. To order pictures, visit my store on Shutterfly.

The pictures you might purchase at the Shutterfly store are made from digital images that are higher resolution and better image quality than the small images that are featured in the weblog here. The images that appear in the weblog have been reduced in size and image quality to fit on the page.
